Tour de Barelang - Pre Race
(Q) So the Tour de Barelang is on the 13th May 2017?
(A) Yes this year we have Cat 1,2 & 3 racing on the Saturday. We are also looking at a separate day for Category 4 / Gran Fondo but this is yet to be secured.
(Q) What is the capacity of cyclists each day
(A) With two ferries we can accommodate approximately 250-280 riders each day.
(Q) What type of bike can I use?
(A) For the race categories we follow the UCI standard for road race bikes. We do however allow disc-brake wheels but there is no race support for these.
(Q) How Big Can My Race Team Be?
(A) In the spirit of competive racing, we limit the team size to 8. You can submit one or more teams per category. For example if you had 10 riders, you could submit a team of say 6 and 4. These would be classed as Team A and Team B within the category and from the perspective of points for the team trophies.
(Q) What is the Refund Policy on Your Events?
(A) Please see our refund policy here
(Q) What if there is Haze?
(A) In the event of Haze or other weather conditions that could cause cancellation, please see our policy.

(A) Cycosports publishes a Race Briefing Document approximately 10 days before the event. Please check the race details on the website for updates. It will also be announced on Facebook.

(A) Yes for the race - drop to the back of the peloton, give your empty bottle to the rider in exchange for a full bottle. We will also have roaming bikes cover the circuit and a static drinks stop.
(Q) Will there be medical support?
(A) Yes we have both local and Singapore medical teams but cyclist are responsible for their own medical insurance in the case of serious injuries.

Calculating Points - The Mechanics
Determining Age
Age is determined by the present year minus the year of birth of the competitor (i.e. 2017 minus 2000 is 17 years).
Resolving Ties
In the event of a tie in the final ranking, the rider with the greatest number of 1st places on the ranking of races in the current year shall take precedence. If there is still a tie, it will be resolved by the greatest number of 2nd places, then 3rd places etc, whatever the rider’s placing.
Only places for which SCF ranking points are allocated will be taken into consideration.
Team Ranking (Best Team and Best Singaporean Team)
The team rankings shall be obtained by adding together the points of their four (4) best placed riders in the individual rankings (across all road categories whether male or female) in the current year.
Resolving Ties
Ties between teams shall be resolved by counting up the greatest number of 1st places, 2nd places etc. This will be based on events organised/sanctioned by SCF in the current year and obtained by the team’s four (4) best riders on the individual rankings.
Determining Best Singaporean Team
The Best Singaporean team shall be obtained by adding together the points of their four (4) highest ranked Singaporean riders in the individual ranking in the current year.
Changing/Switching Teams
Riders are permitted to move and change team names during the season, however no transfer of individual rider points will be permitted to be brought forward to the new team during the season.
